Movie: Hamnet
An impeccable, mesmerizing story of love and grief, Hamnet is one of the most talked-about movies of the last several months for a reason. Directed by Chloé Zhao, based on the book by Maggie O’Farrell it is a speculative account of the family life of Anne Hathaway and William Shakespeare, and particularly the effects of their relationship to their young son Hamnet and his role in inspiring Shakespeare’s most famous play. Starring Jessie Buckley in a landmark performance alongside Paul Mescal, it is a tender, beautiful, and fittingly poetic film of subtle depth and power.
Showtime begins at 6:00 pm with a discussion afterwards at about 8:05.
