National Canadian Film Day: Firecrackers
April 15th is National Canadian Film Day, so join us at the Library for a screening of Firecrackers, the 2018 debut from filmmaker Jasmin Mozafarri that won two Canadian Screen Awards, including for Best Director. Set in a generic rural Canadian small town, it follows two free-spirited girls and their desperate efforts to escape its stifling, repressive atmosphere. Starring Michaela Kurimsky and Karena Evans, it is a stark, intense movie, though critically honest and resonating as well.
Showtime begins at 6:00 pm.
Admission is free. No food or drink permitted in the Library Theatre. For more information, contact the Library at 306-692-2787.
