Learn how to take control of your finances with practical strategies.

This 90-minute interactive workshop is designed to help participants take control of their finances through simple, practical budgeting strategies that actually work in real life.

Rather than focusing on rigid rules or complicated spreadsheets, this session will guide participants through a flexible and realistic approach to managing money, one that fits their lifestyle and goals.

Participants will:

  • Learn a simple framework for building a budget that is easy to maintain
  • Understand where their money is going and how to make intentional spending decisions
  • Explore strategies for managing expenses, saving consistently, and reducing financial stress
  • Apply what they learn through guided exercises
  • Begin building their own personalized budget during the session

This workshop is designed to be highly interactive and practical, with opportunities for reflection, discussion, and real-time application. Participants will leave with tools, resources, and the confidence to start making meaningful changes right away.

No prior financial knowledge is required, just a willingness to engage and take a step toward better financial habits

This free workshop is open to adults and young adults 16 and over. All supplies will be provided. Registration is encouraged. Drop-ins are also welcome.

This workshop will be presented by Marcus Moulding. Marcus Moulding is a financial educator and the founder of 5 O’Clock Financial, where he helps individuals build confidence with their money through practical, easy-to-understand financial guidance.

Marcus has a background in finance and post-secondary education, currently serving as Program Head and Instructor in Finance at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Through his teaching and professional experience, he has worked with hundreds of students and clients to simplify complex financial concepts and make them accessible and actionable.

He is currently completing his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation and is passionate about improving financial literacy in his community. His approach focuses on real-life application, helping people not just understand money, but actually use that knowledge to improve their day-to-day financial decisions.
