Movie: The Zone of Interest
Harrowing yet vital, Jonathan Glazer’s The Zone of Interest is the most chilling film about the Holocaust in a generation. Without ever showing the horrors outright, the movie set at Auschwitz is defined by the haunting juxtaposition of an atmosphere of violence permeating the environment with the mundane, casual and consciously ignorant manner of the camp commandant’s family. A vivid, disturbing admonishment on the evils of apathy towards atrocities, the film stars Christian Friedel and Sandra Hüller.
Showtime begins at 6:00 pm with a discussion afterwards at about 7:45.
