Movie: The Green Knight
On Christmas morning, Sir Gawain, one of the Knights of the Round Table, eagerly accepts a challenge by a mysterious Green Knight to deal him a blow that will be returned to him at his own castle in one year’s time. He beheads the knight, but his foe survives. Thus begins The Green Knight, David Lowery’s profound and atmospheric adaptation of the Arthurian folktale in which a young impetuous knight bound by honour embarks on a quest to his certain death. With ample respect to the poetic style and sharp moral themes of the medieval source, it is vivid, intense, and shrewdly captivating. Starring Dev Patel, Alicia Vikander, and Ralph Ineson.
Showtime begins at 6:00 pm with a discussion afterwards at about 8:15.
