Movie: Project Hail Mary
One of the biggest movies of 2026 and a refreshingly original studio blockbuster, Project Hail Mary is also a needed dose of optimistic spirit in the face of an uncertain future. Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and based on the novel by Andy Weir, it is the story of a lonely amnesiac astronaut on a desperate mission into deep space for a cosmic cure to the substance dimming the Sun and dooming the Earth. Grim though its premise may be, it is a movie that reveals itself as a tender and grounded humanist parable on hope and cooperation, conveyed through spellbinding visuals and a charming tone. The movie stars Ryan Gosling, Sandra Hüller, and James Ortiz.
Showtime begins at 6:00 pm with a discussion afterwards at about 8:35.
