1:00pm - 3:00pm
Moose Jaw Public Library
South Meeting RoomJoin Kellee & Debbie to celebrate, share, and learn about the rich cultural tradition of Indigenous beading.
June 21, 2026 is the 30th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day! It's a time to recognize and celebrate the traditions, cultures and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis. National Indigenous Peoples Day takes place on the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. For generations, many First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities have celebrated their cultures, languages, and traditions at this time of year. The summer solstice holds deep spiritual and cultural significance for many Indigenous Peoples, marking a time of renewal, connection, and celebration.
This year we invite you to join us at the library with facilitators Debbie Sykora and Kellee Leader to learn about the importance of beading in Métis culture and try your hand at it! All materials will be supplied. Light refreshments will be provided.
Youth ages 12 and up are welcome. Registration required. For more information, contact the library at 306-692-2787.
