Movie: Jaws
The thriller credited with sparking the blockbuster boom that more than anything else has created the populist movie climate of the modern era, Steven Spielberg’s Jaws is still very much in a class of its own. The classic story of a killer shark terrorizing the populace of a small New England beach town and the efforts of a mismatched trio to hunt it down is still tense and effective several decades on, owing to the creative ingenuity of the young Spielberg, the excellence of its cast, the tenor of its pace, and that pronounced iconic score from John Williams. Starring Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, and Richard Dreyfuss. Join us for this 50th Anniversary celebration.
Showtime begins at 6:00 pm with a discussion afterwards at about 8:05.
