Movie: Carol
A sombre yet earnest holiday romance from director Todd Haynes based on the acclaimed novel The Price of Salt by Patricia Highsmith, Carol is the story of the discreet affair between a young working-class photographer and an elite older woman in the midst of divorce in a repressive 1950s New York City. Captivating in its lush holiday colours, emotional sensitivity, and opulent atmosphere, it is one of the most tender and subtle lesbian love stories in recent years. The film stars Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara.
Showtime begins at 6:00 pm with a discussion afterwards at about 8:00.
